Discngine @ the German Conference on Chemoinformatics 2013

Discngine @ GCC2013

We attended this years German Conference on Chemoinformatics. Vincent & myself presented a poster there about our recent developments on Matched Molecular Pairs and how we use Pharmacophore Graph (our take on the use of reduced graphs) to enhance classical MMP analysis. One major advantage of the method is that considering full context specificity becomes tractable.

You can download the poster on fuzzy context specific matched molecular pairs here.

The method will be made available in the new release of the Discngine Chemistry Collection scheduled for early 2014.

About the conference

For the very first time the conference was held in Fulda in the north of Frankfurt, pretty much in the middle of Germany. Moving the conference away from the fairly isolated (but lovely) Goslar has been discussed during the last years and finally decided. The new location is a very good choice and from what I heard the following conferences will also take place there.

The conference had a high scientific standard and I'd say it's among the best conferences on chemoinformatics and drug design in Europe. Presentations, poster sessions and were all very well organized.

If you hesitate to go to next years conference, do not hesitate to do so, it's worth it, despite the rather high registration fees (especially for academics).
